New and Returning Plazes Features

July 4th, 2007 by Peter Rukavina

As the recasting of Plazes.com continues to evolve post-relaunch, new and returning features are starting to pop up.

If you look at the “Pictures of this Plaze” section, for example, you’ll see a new “Delete Pictures” button that lets you, well, delete pictures:

You can now delete photos of Plazes...

Down the page a little, and somewhat more subtle, you’ll see that you can delete tags too (just click on the “X”):

You can now delete Plazes tags too...

The much-requested Plazes Widget Maker application has returned; you’ll find a link on the Tools page. This tool lets you generate HTML code that you can paste into your weblog sidebar, your MySpace page, or any other web application that allows custom widgets to be added. Here’s mine:

And finally, it’s not a new feature today, but it’s new since the relaunch, and it’s worthy of a look: Plazes Groups allow you to group together people and Plazes. We users are only now figuring out what the best use for Groups is, but it’s obvious that, say, for conferences and events they’ll be really useful. If you’re a cappuccino aficionado you may want to join my Where to Get a Good Cappuccino group and add the Plazes in your world where good coffee may be had.

Is Plazes missing features that you’d like it to have? Please use the comments to describe what you’d like to see next.
