Plazes TXT

In the last couple of days we´ve released a major addition to Plazes: A complete SMS text messaging interface.

For the first time you can truly use Plazes from anywhere and with even the most outdated of mobile phones (as long as it is able to send SMS that is). No need to install anything at all. Just send a message with the Plaze you´re at to the server:

You can even omit parts and just send “in berlin” or “at home“. If you´ve been there before, we´ll smartPlaze® you to your home because that´s the most probable “home“.

Once you´ve plazed yourself, you can check for friends nearby (”contacts?“) or find the nearest WIFI hotspot (”wifi?“)

For a more detailed explanation go check here.

And another first: Plazes are not tied to network connections anymore. So wether you´re Plazing yourself in your favorite bar or in the next garbage can - no need for a laptop. So go knock yourself out! (Especially with the Plaze-Craze going on, Plazes SMS is your ticket to NYC.)

Currently there are two numbers, you can send your SMS to: One in the US and one in Germany. But as it looks now, we will be rather quickly adding numbers in other Western European countries. For now, you can obviously also use the existing two numbers from anywhere in the world.
